Biology has made us to understand that the earth is a place inhabited by million of humans who if must survive, must provide for the needs of him or herself. More so, economics further broaden our understanding to this effect that these humans all have needs, so numerous that the resources to satisfy them are limited. This sound threatening to the human race because our needs must be met if we must live comfortably on the earth.
Having understood the situation above, we must be conscious of the fact that every opportunity we have to obtain resources (money) should not be taken for granted because the opportunity you miss today is, will fall favorable to another.
In the modern day, everyone wants to work in oil companies, like SHELL, Chevron, AGIP,etc. Unfortunately, these companies cannot employ up 40% of our unemployed persons in our environment, so what are those not privileged expected to do with their lives? Hear me today, apart from the fact that these companies cannot accommodate all unemployed persons, many of them have left our environment to other locations of the country and will gradually move to back to Europe eventually, but this should not be the end of oil exploration in our dear country.
That apart, we have been indoctrinated and acculturated with the formality of white-collar jobs of receiving salaries at the end of the month. We have to wake up from our slumber, it has passed the time of waiting until the end of 30days before holding money.
Imagine if our forefathers were working till the end of every month before receiving money to survive, they would not have achieved much. Our parents could make their impacts with the little commerce they know. Many of them were traders, farmers and fishermen who daily trade, farm and fish, for the purpose of receiving something everyday. This is where my point lies. If you must be your own boss, you must be business conscious, by this i mean you should have a business that fetches you something everyday, instead of waiting till the end of 30days.
Do not wait for government to create employment before you can be productive. Think and do something. You can be your own boss if you engage your mind to work. There are a lot of unaccessed businesses in that phone you are holding, think!
From studies about the life of a true igbo man, it was observed that an Igbo man will rather sell "tooth pick" than become a beggar. That is the spirit, no matter your qualification, HAVE A BUSINESS OF DAILY INCOME... The richest men in the world today have their own businesses! you cannot be richer than your boss! Wake up!!!
